Midas

Went for an inspection. Said I needed rear brakes and wipers. Just had brand new wipers put on 2 days before the inspection. They said they look 2 years old. Just want me to buy ones from them at an expensive cost. Then was told they have to charge 25 dollars to give me a price on changing the brakes. Ridiculous. Update July 3 2026. Brought my car to a reputable place and it passed inspection. Absolutely nothing wrong with my brakes or wipers

Had a great experience at Midas thanks to Jim, the manager. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and transparent throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain everything clearly, checked over the whole car thoroughly, and made sure I understood what was going on. My car is driving amazingly now and I couldn’t be happier with the service. Highly recommend Jim and the team at Midas!

I needed to get my vehicle inspected today, so I drove around Schenectady, going from shop to shop, being told I couldn't get an inspection done today. Some of these shops were empty! I stopped at 5 different places, until this Midas store said they could inspect my Jeep. I was told it could take an hour, and I almost left, because I didn't have an hour to wait, but I decided to take a chance that it could be quicker. It took 30 minutes, and there was no drama! I will be back.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience with this oil change service from start to finish. Chris was professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. He got me in quickly, explained everything clearly without any pressure or upselling, and treated my vehicle like it was his own. What really stood out was the attention to detail — he checked fluids, tire pressure, and made sure everything was in top shape before I left. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, and the entire process was smooth and stress-free. It’s hard to find honest, reliable automotive service these days, but this team truly exceeded my expectations. Fast, knowledgeable, and genuinely customer-focused. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending them to friends and family!

I unfortunately brought my car to this location last week (2/16) for an inspection and an oil change. My check engine light was on and I had it checked prior using a friends code reader which read as having a bad O2 censor. When I dropped my car off, I shared that information, they laughed and said they would still need to diagnose the problem themselves. I stupidly signed off immediately to pay for an inspection, oil change, and a diagnostic. Within a couple hours I received a quote for nearly $4,000. My car is a 2017, I take great care of it and always get routine maintenance & necessary repairs. I immediately went to pick up my car and unfortunately did have to pay $215 for the oil change and diagnostic (which was mostly incorrect and I could have gotten an oil change literally anywhere else for $60 less). While waiting about 20 minutes for them to get my car off the lift, James was explaining the issues to me extremely condescendingly, and kept saying the problems won’t go away at a different mechanic. A week later after bringing my car to a different mechanic, I have an inspection sticker, my check engine light is off, and I am only out $400. My sway bars that supposedly faile
